Volunteer Appreciation Day 2026

Bright Hill Evergreen Home has been a place of care and shelter for Singapore’s elderly since 1983. Today, as a 436-bedded accredited non-profit nursing home in Punggol, we provide long-term residential nursing care for the aged and sick, regardless of race, language, or religion. But beyond the beds, the medical teams, and the clinical expertise lies something that no facility can manufacture: community.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of that community. They organise activities, offer companionship, provide meals, sing songs, hold hands, and remind our residents — many of whom have limited family support — that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. In a world where loneliness among the elderly is a growing concern, the presence of a warm and familiar volunteer face can be a lifeline.

As we look back on Volunteer Appreciation Day 2026, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. For every early morning commute to Punggol, every cheerful smile given on even the most challenging days, and every year of unwavering commitment — thank you. You are the reason our home is so much more than a building. You make it a true home.
